There is a sadness, a restless anger pounding throughout the album's synthesized beats. When I heard the lead single, Love Lockdown, I was unsure as to whether I liked Kanye's latest effort. After listening to the album, however, I found myself absorbed by the false (synthesizers and voice-thing-a-ma-gigs) and the natural (drums) ways in which he tried to introduce us to his grief. This album dropped last November but I was listening to a track just now and had to add my two cents about this interesting effort. One thing you can say about Kanye: he knows how to grow musically.

Oh, I'm glad you liked the music! I'm slightly in love with it. Also, recently I was listening to Nelly Furtado and I realized I never would have been that into her if it wasn't for you. I was stuck on "Like a Bird" until you introduced me to your li'l obsession. LOL
I am obsessed with Streetlights. It just feels like it's where I am right now.
I know! That was my gateway into the album too. The next to creep into my heart was Coldest Winter, but I always had the thrum of Love Lockdown at the ready, you know, to break up the melancholy. ^^
