Her blog is chiefly photography, with food and recipes thrown into the mix. So really, what's not to love? I especially enjoy her site's design -- a mixture of vintage brown paper, bits of string, gorgeous stationary, old typewriter fonts and old-fashioned scripts and pins. She has made a visit to her page such an experience I bookmarked it right away and had to share the very same day! So... Go visit!!

Liberal, Politics

Ahem. Plug here.

Ultra liberal blog. So biased I feel a bit ashamed at times when I consider what I should be doing -- not remaining wholly entrenched in viewpoints similar to my own, branching out. Yet I read it religiously. Really, while it offers substance (as I'm sure its counterparts do), it is no more than a staunch political safe-haven profusely bleeding Dem-blue. I love it, I really do.

Then there's Huff-Po, an online must (my humble opinion). I tried the Daily Kos and came up disinterested -- I think it's the website layout. I find it difficult and uninviting, and apparently I am the only one. LOL

Since I'm doing the political thing here, I'll admit I like Peggy Noonan. She's said some things I don't agree with, she's fundamentally Republican, but there is an obvious intelligence to her. It comes off as inherent and elegant, yet there's nothing 'soft' about her views -- they seem extremely well-thought out. Definitive disagreements with her don't inspire bellicosity, just an honest difference of opinion, of thought. It's rather disarming -- she must be a pain to debate. ^^

I have similar thoughts about Ed Rollins. He's so measured in his approach on TV. Rollins doesn't lend himself to caricature because, I think, he doesn't see it as the most persuasive road to political conversion. That's just me, though. Eh. Again, I don't agree with him politically -- hell, I even remind myself to be leery due to his status as a Republican strategist (strategists of all shades are, well, shady by definition). However I respect his opinion due to the way he seems to come at things.

That's it. Just out and about thinking. At 6 AM. Sigh. I woke up at 3.

Ah, here it is: *Guy Farley's Main Theme 01, off the "Cashback"
soundtrack. A song like falling snow, like twilight and moon
through a sea of trees. So, not really a fire -- no rage in the senses here. Hmm,
I wonder how long this will last?

For about a year now I have been frequenting
the various blogs of one, Stella Im Hultberg.


.................{happiness is a warm gun}..........

Her art blog, 'happiness is a warm gun', is routinely
updated with news on her pieces (the jpeg above
being a gorgeous example of said work) and any
upcoming shows. If only I lived near enough to attend.
Sigh.


.....................{lovely distractions}

The other blog, 'lovely distractions', is a visual dialogue
on what Hultberg finds beautiful and inspiring. The
second photo featured here is one such example. I
am so thrilled she's put together a site with a theme
like this! It is exciting to see what draws an artist, as
well as an opportunity to be introduced to artists and
photographers who I otherwise might never have
known.

Stella Im Hultberg is very talented and I invite everyone
who might traipse across this blog o' mine to give this
artist's websites (and artwork) a whirl. You won't be
disappointed!
